Everything you need to know about our Mechanical Lockout Kits

Here at Work Safety Solutions, we specialise in all kinds of Lockout Tagout products, and today we’re going to focus on our range of mechanical lockout kits. In this category, we offer a range of subcategories, including blind flange lockout, cable lockout, confined space lockout, gas cylinder lockout, steering wheel lockouts, pneumatic lockouts and valve lock off. Blind Flange Lockout

Our range of blind flange lockout devices includes three different sizes: small, medium and large. Such devices improve compliance and control of potential risks so that the blind can’t be removed until all personal safety locks are removed. These products are usually used during pipeline maintenance to avoid the risk of exposure to chemicals, flammable gasses, oil, and steam. 

Cable Lockout

In our cable lockout range, we offer twenty different products. These devices provide a system whereby you can isolate energy to prevent unwanted usage where you may need to lock off several different valves and circuit breakers at the same time. Standard lockout equipment wouldn’t meet these requirements, which is why we offer cable lockout devices in a range of different lengths of diameter, as well as options for those working in particularly hot or cold extremes of temperature. Made from either nylon core or steel cable, they are tough yet flexible.

Confined Space Lockout

In our confined space lockout devices, we offer three different options, which are very easy to use, with an elastic rimmed cover that slips over the flange of the confined space to deter unauthorised entry. As well as the basic cover, there’s an option for a ventilated cover, and another option that is rigid. Each come in four different sizes.

Gas Cylinder Lockout

There are two options when it comes to gas cylinder lockout devices, which surround the gas valve handle to protect against a mistaken opening of the valve, which can work with or without guarding. Highly flexible, it should fit most valves up to 7.6 diameter. We offer the pressurised gate valve lockout (S3910) and the gas cylinder lockout (P606) in this category.

Steering Wheel Lockouts

We offer one standard steering wheel lockout cover. This offers a visual deterrent for use with vehicle maintenance, and it is designed for use with the Safety Series S806 lockout cable, which can be placed around the steering wheel and foot pedals. The warning reads in English, French and Spanish to warn workers not to start or move the vehicle.

Pneumatic Lockouts

In our pneumatic lockout devices section, we offer a stainless-steel pneumatic lockout device and a large, red electrical and pneumatic lockout device. These devices stop such fittings from being reconnected to a pressure air source. The latter can accommodate a wide range of electrical plugs up to 82mm diameter and 152mm in length as well as male air hose connectors.

Valve Lock Off

Our final category is hugely extensive, with over twenty valve lockout devices available. These enable you to stop a fluid or gas valve from being opened for a designated time. The range includes ball valves, butterfly valves, cylinder valves, gate valves, plug valves and pneumatic valves fitting virtually all pipes (including insulated, PVC and metal).
